Frequently asked questions
Front and rear, or front only?
Rear impacts and parking shunts are extremely common — a rear camera covers them. For most drivers we recommend front and rear; the Thinkware U1000 PRO is the system we fit most often.
Will parking mode drain my battery?
No. Hardwired Thinkware systems manage their own power and cut off before the battery drops to a level that would stop the car starting.
How long is footage kept?
On a loop — the oldest footage is overwritten automatically. Most systems keep several hours of driving plus parking-mode events; impact clips are locked so they can't be overwritten.
Do dash cams reduce my insurance?
Many insurers offer a discount for fitted dash cams, and more importantly the footage protects your no-claims bonus in a dispute. Check with your provider for their specific terms.
Can you fit to HGVs and vans?
Yes — HGV camera systems, blind spot detection and DVS compliance kits are a core part of our work, including FORS Gold requirements.
